I think what I'll do is get a pair of fake plugs and try those and see how those go before I make the jump and do the real thing.[/QUOTE]

That's the way to do it. I actually did that myself, using the fake ones. I used them for about a year then decided that i didnt really want to do the real thing now i hardly wear earings anymore and if i do its some small diamonds.

Some people stretch them to a point of no return. I'm stretching mine to maybe around an 10g or even a 6g. I won't be sure until that time comes. I'm only stretching to a point where I can wear the jewelry and take them out without my lobes looking gross. The biggest I've heard that people can wear is a 4g or even a 0g. It all depends on the person's lobes, how long they've had them, and how well they take care of their body. I'd say go for it if YOU like them. Don't do it just because everyone's doing it. But then again you're posting trying to get everyone else's opinion, which makes me believe that you're decision to do it is based off the fad.

Walter, Ryan, and Simon. I was really hoping to get your take on the subject and I am really glad you guys came in and shared your thoughts and experiences. Thank you.

For the record, this isn't something that I want to do because it is trendy nor do I want to do it to get the attention of more girls. I know those are both terrible reasons to do anything.

The fact that it is getting more trendy actually kinda turns we away from it. I don't want to fall into the trend bandwagon. I really dislike that crap. The idea that some girls find it attractive or that it could be a potential conversation piece or shared interest would just be a bonus really.

I have been on and off about this for the last 6-7 years. One of my friends in HS had stretched ears and I thought it was really cool. She even offered to let me have all the plugs that she used in the stretching process. IDK why I didn't do anything then, I guess I just didn't feel the drive to do it. Ever since then though I have always worked with people who had stretched ears, even now at my current job, and I have always be fascinated it.

I guess the real reason why I am more motivated now compared to how I was 6-7 years ago would probably be because I guess I am sorta in the process of change. Most of you guys saw me at BAM and saw how I look. I was the big white guy. That was pretty much all I had going for me (appearance wise). Since BAM I have gotten smaller and if I can keep with it, I will continue to get smaller. Until the point where (hopefully) I will no longer be a big guy. Well, I may still be a tall guy, but that distinction is already taken. I guess I feel like I would be too plain, so I want something to make me different and unique. I know I am the same decaying matter as everything else, but I want to be the unique snowflake.

I think what I'll do is get a pair of fake plugs and try those and see how those go before I make the jump and do the real thing.

Just to put sizing into perspective i stretched to 7/16ths (one size above 00g) and my ears only closed up to a 4g. This isn't horrible looking but you can definitely tell what i've done to my ears. By you posting this and asking someone else's opinion on it, i'd say don't do it. If you decide to do it, keep in mind that the "point of no return" is generally 2g or 0g but differs from person to person.
