I wouldn't worry
I have a Cobb catted DP and Blitz cat back. When the guys at LIC installed my DP and sway bars, and then took the car for a test drive around the block, they said, "Damn that's loud.". I get nothing but compliments about it. Everyone I've ever talked to says they can't believe that sound comes from a 4 banger (Thanks to the boxer engine). Never been pulled over for the loud exhaust...yet...

i ruin the catless turbo back Blitz Nur spec and that thing is SO LOUD.
my wife hates it, but i love it.
when drivibg past cop be sure to put the clutch in to quite the exhaust. and if they pull out behind you try to let them pass you.
most marin Co cops have other things to do than write a fix it ticket, like looking at hot chicks. btu just be careful out there. If got popped once and it reallly sucks to take care of that kind of ticket.
