I hear you guys. Renting is flushing money and I'm through doing it. 
I could certainly buy a relative dump here for the $350-400k that I want to spend. I could also by 3 cheap houses in Texas for the same price and rent them and write off the depreciation.
hhaha man this area is insane. Imagine housing prices if the gubmint outlawed or restricted job (read: programming) outsourcing. They could double!
