should i go to the hospital??
so i dislocated my knee two days ago skating this hand rail in castro valley. i usually kill this rail but that day, that rail got the best of me..
havent seen a doctor yet because i honestly dont think i should.
i mean, what can they do for me? i popped my knee back in myself which was killer, i bought myself a knee brace.. i already have crutches so im not putting any weight on it. and i have connections for vicodin...
but i want other people's opinion, should i really go to the hospital? maybe i tore my acl or mcl. iono, stupid thread but just wanted to know what other people think.
here are some pics.
me hitting steezy boardslide.

picture of knee in current condition. two days later after i dislocated my knee.

not that bad right? lol, i cant even see my knee cap

Did it pop it back in?
It's been two days already and it doesn't look bad. Do you have feeling in your leg and foot?
I'd recommend going to the doctor just to get it checked out.

it was crazy because i never fell like that.. i basically bailed in the air and couldn't catch my balance.. if i had gotten it on video, it looks like it would've made it on scarred. LOL
but yeah, i have can move my foot around, just cant put any weight on that leg, yet.. i think im good, right?
i hate the doctors and i usually never go when i break a finger or toe. but this situation made me think twice about going or not..
Personally I would go and get it checked out for sure cause you wouldnt want it to heal wrong incase something is torn or broken. Knee injuries are pretty serious to me since it means walking. And if something is seriously wrong and it heals incorrectly that might mean knee surgery, why take a chance man. I tried that when I thought I sprained my elbow skating and it ended with me in a cast haha, my friends made me go but Im glad I did.

if you cant put weight on it, something is definitely wrong. I would say go get it checked out just in case. If you do have a tear, its better to get it now, then when you are doing something important and it gives out, like driving and you cant shift.

ahhhhhhhhh!
needles and doctors dont mix well with me. i seriously have thought about going to the hospital but for some reason i dont think they can do more than what ive been doing to it now. or maybe i'm just really stubborn.
my real question is.. will it get better on its own? like if i ice it constantly and stay off of it?
when i use to wrestle for sfsu, i had a slight tear in my mcl and also bruised my meniscus (cartilage around the knee cap) and went to the doctors for that and all they did was give me a knee brace, crutches and some medicine.
could this be the same thing? i know no one is a doctor but from personal experience, what do you guys think?

To my knowledge noone here is a dr. so I would talk to one, no weight on the leg isn't a good thing, to be sure (and safe) see a doctor man, get some x-rays and see whats going on in there you'll thank yourself later.

an x-ray would give me the answer i need. im just scared its something worse and i'd have to go under the knife.
but your right, if it is really something wrong, probably is best to go to the hospital.
sucks cuz its my left leg and i cant drive my suby at all, let alone walk around on it.
oh woe is me...

not a doctor, but have had 6 years of medical training in the military. If you can not walk on it, its bad. If you are worried about the doctor give it a week. If it is still the same, go to the doctor. If it gets better, just be careful for a little while and watch for any shooting pains or the knee giving out.
I hope its just minor and your good to go. I hate needles and doctors as well and know your pain there.

and actually, i can walk on it, but with a weird limp and some discomfort so thats why i just choose not to and stay on crutches for now.
i think i'll be ok not going to the doctors for not, out of all the crazy **** i do, this is probably not the worst thing that has happened to me. i hurt that knee plenty of times and this body has taken a pretty big beating.
here's pic of me when i was still wrestling (guy on the left), notice how that left knee has always been messed up but i still managed

so hopefully i'll be good.. hopefully

dood. If you have not gone to med school do NOT try to diagnose your own injury.
you'll regret not going to the doctor later on.
