Question Should I debadge on a 99? Will the paint be darker underneath?

I've been thinking about taking off the S U B A R U on my trunk and leaving my 2.5RS emblem. Only thing is I'm not sure if I should take it off cause I don't want the paint to be noticibly darker underneath, any thoughts?? My paint is in overall good condition still but I wanted to check before doing anything I'd regret.

-Jeff

BTW: My car is RBP

Glad to hear I'm not the only one worried about the ghost of Subaru badging on my trunk

I debadged the SUBARU on my MY95 Impreza. No fading at all. Just make sure to wax it good after you remove it.

I just took the first letter off and the color is the same, but what the best way to get rid of the sticky residue?

Goo Gone, or Sticker Shock, either type of thing works. Even just some sope and water will help alot, along with a credit card to scrape it off.

Okay well I got the residue off with bug/tar remover and a card. Then I wiped it clean and claybared the area, washed it then waxed a few times. It came out pretty well but if you look REALLY close you can see a thin edgy outline from where the letters were. The claybar and wax got rid of most of it but I guess the rest will eventually wear off. Even if it doesnt I don't care cause you need your face 5 inches away or closer to even see it :-\
