"This fits on the manual transmission only (5spd & 6spd)."

Talking huh?

I thought the short throw shifter actually had a whole change in the linkage. Look on the Subaru Web site.

I am not sure how just the shifting post would make a difference but than again i am not an expert.

Also Subydude has a Perin adjustable throw shifting linkage for $80.00 so you might want to go with what you know will work.

it adjusts the fulcrum of the shifter, giving you a shorter throw.

I would say no.
if its from ebay, and has moving parts at the shift link, it could crap out. If it were solid like the SD or kartboy I'd say go for it.

Buy from a dealer.

From the looks of it coast is pretty close so you aren't saving much. I would say get the shifter from Subydude. I am sure he will be there to support you if you have questions as well.

I installed the Katboy in my Legacy this weekend. The difference is much more than I expected. Best $90 I spent on the car.
