Most of the time it doesn't have anything to do with what happened and those people should just STFU and carry on.

That is clearly the case here. Leave the gun control **** to it's own topics.

This is a tragic event for the community I am a part of. This is not something Santa Cruz has ever had to deal with. It's a symbol of the direction our county has been heading for some time. It's a senseless act of violence on very kind officers. This is not the big bad evil LAPD (sarcasm). This was a 28 year vet that loved the job. Loved to serve people. Loved it so much that his son is now in law enforcement. A woman that left behind a family. 2 friggin children left to figure out why their mommy went to work and never came back.

So if you want to talk politics of gun control you can gtfo.

OOOOO Jimmies rustled. Someone is even madder.

Here is the (story)fail line:

irrationalx is living up to his name and states a sarcastic thing about banning everything including knives in the kitchen.

Stirs doesn't understand and talks dat smack.

Wong3r thinks he can chime in, because chiming in due to his previous post about gun control didn't make anyone else ticked off of changing the subject in this thread. *get the sarcasm here*

OneManBro gets ticked and goes pissant on WongBro.

WongGuy gets giddy cuz he's pissing folks off.

Anywho, RIP for both cops. Gun man went blazing with the cops guns and a vest on.

The only good news: We don't have to feed and house the son of a wh0re who did this, because someone took care of the problem. It's unfortunate that they aren't letting us know where he's buried, because I'd sh|t on his grave.

I read that in a sport channel recap voice. ACTUALLY, I re-read it in the voice used at horse race tracks.

A++ Post, WILL READ AGAIN!

I was at work (2 blocks away) when the whole thing went down. I was amazed by how quick the perimeter was setup, and how fast they were able to locate the suspect.

Sgt. Baker was great man and have done a lot for this community. As stated by Roo above, I am glad that we didn't have to house and feed that SOB.

I live off Broadway and Branciforte and I was outside working with my headphones on the whole time this was going down. Sad to say I expect this in my hometown of LA but not Santa Cruz. Things will not be the same around here after this.

Gotta applaud the response...at least they didn't kill or injure a bunch of innocent people while trying to burn the guy to the ground. They went in using the right amount of force and killed the f0cker.

For sure. The only thing I can come up with is that the 2 officers called in that he was locking himself in and where already on the way. Either way they got the neighborhood looked down and safe very quick. Took care of business.

They handled it well.
