That 3rd line was great. That offense wore out Craig Smith to death. This is probably the first full season I'm paying attention to. It's my 2nd year getting into hockey. I'm still learning this game. Haha.
I loved this game. But it got to the point where I was questioning whether Phoenix is any good this year. I mean, we were up 6-1 at the end of two. If the Sharks won the game 4-1 or maybe 6-1, I'd say this team looks amazing and the season is going to be absolutely fabulous. But I dunno. We need to play some tougher teams, get our #1 goalie back and see what happens then.

There's still work to be done on the penalty kill for sure. But this was also game 1. Once they've got a few regular season games under their belts, then we'll see.

Meh, it's still early in the season... The last 3 games the Sharks have run into a hot goalie... Last night they got 40+ shots on net... They just aren't getting any puck luck. I'm not a Sharks fan (I'm from Ottawa so I'm a Sens fan... you wanna complain about a bad season looming?), but they will win their division again this year. Burns is gonna tear it up all year on the power play (I see 20 goals for him this year) and once Havlat is healthy he's going to be a force.
Sharks have nothing to worry about... Until the playoffs at least.

The Sharks always have a ton of shots on goal, but they still had to fight to make the post season last year. And that late season run is arguably what wore them down by the conference finals.

The won the division last year... hardly a fight to get into the playoffs... yeah they had a slow first half, but they were arguably the hottest team in the second half of the year... winning doesn't make a team anymore tired than losing. As for last playoffs... Maybe they were a little worn out, but they also ran into a better team. Canucks were stacked. They choked hard in the finals because they were by far the best team last year.
