It seems as though there is an abundence of police officers pulling us over lately.

Oh, and ive been driving around with my track pipe for the last 5 days and never ever saw a cop Then again, I only drove to and from work (about a mile and a half, LOL!)

I did put my stock muffler back on for going back to sac state tommorow... Setting off every car alarm would be cool, but I would definatly be ticketed by the campus police

It would be worth it! I'd pay ten bucks to set them all off for a few days.

lol, david you tell 'em.

O yeah, that "whining noise" you heard from my exhaust wasn't a exhaust leak, it was my turbo spooling and delspooling which just became really obvious since my bov didn't go off, and I'm one of the relatively few people running catless but with a muffler still in place. That's kinda what you'd hear when you put on the uppipe.

yeah, I thought something was up....better rebuild that BOV!

It sounded normal when you took off from In & Out, though.

Thanks again for the upppipe,

David

"all other stickers are on the underside of my trunklid"....

Funny, I did same thing too. On display: just WRX(club.net removed) stickers on each front doors and cusco on rear bumper.
I believe that stickers can be intimidating to some drivers, not to mention you're advertising your's/them. STAY LOW............

I don't know about other departments, but the Sacramento police department has access to other states' motor vehicle information. I called in a suspicious car that had a WA plate on the front and a CA plate on the back. The dispatcher had me hold the line while she ran a quick check (I could hear her entering info at the keyboard). Turns out the car was registered to the same person in both states, but the owner didn't know that it wasn't necessary to display both plates.

Lo Profile is definitely the way to go..

I drive like a nut for the most part, virtually always speeding. I haven't been pulled over in the year I've had the car. This includes an instance of playing freeway tag with an Accura, who did get pulled over. The Accura had a huge wing, my car looks stock other than the wheels. One of the reasons I got a white wagon is because they look fairly generic and not particularly sporty. If your car looks like a race car, cops notice.

i got a ticket the other night for doing 75 in a 65 on 280 south in Daly City by the CHP. it sucks. i was going with the flow, and other cars were even passing me. i dont know why he chose me out of everyone. i wish i had my 11-99 CHP Foundation license plate holder. CHP usually just warns you if you have one of thoes. the catch is that one of thoes license plate holders and the badge that goes along with it set u back a cool $1500. that donation gets you a life time membership to the 11-99 CHP foundation. i can gets apps. if anyone is interested. they ususally let u go for stupid things. but if your driving like a mad man, they still have to do their job.

Cops ARE pulling lots of folks over lately, much more than normal.

Two friends just got cited for exhaust and tint, and I was pulled over for speeding in SF near Kezar stadium, though I was let go after the officer let me know he could hear my, and I quote, "sick exhaust."
... actually it's not a muffler, it's a straight pipe officer haha That sure was a close call, good thing I wasn't DUI. Also the car has no tint, no stickers, no bodykit, looks very stock except for wheels. I would recommend staying stock if you want to avoid tickets, and also don't speed anywhere near pedestrians.

And yes, cops do appreciate it when you're honest with them and keep your hands on the top of the steering wheel

[B]I doubt that Subies are being targeted more than any other car. We've only been hearing about it because we're on a Subie board.

Gonna have to disagree with that. For about the first year of having my car (got it in July 01) everything was fine. Then after that I started to notice more cops eyeing me as I drove by. I have been followed numerous times. And I know i was being followed. There has been several times I have been driving along and see a cop on the road to the right coming out onto my road but he is in the left turn lane as i pass from his left to his right. He then immedialtly turns right (from the left turn lane)and follows me. I have been followed to work(about a 15min drive) I have been followed around town. I pissed off a cop yesterday who I passed on a two lane road (two lanes both directions) he was stopped in the left lane and I drove by in the right. He lurched out of his lane and caught up to me. Then I see his head bobbing from looking at me and down to his center dash area. Running my plates. As he followed for a couple lights I decided to play with him. I began making left turn after left turn. He caught on that we were going in circles and split.
Usually what I do now is if I feel a cop starts to follow me around(I'll make a few turns to find out) I immediatly pull over to a curb that i can park at and just sit there. Basically, I wont let him follow me.
