How long did it take you to get E4? Do you have college or are they really needing E4's that badly?
It takes a little cramming into the M1950 carrying case but the M240B will fit at full length when rigging for a jump. I actually preferred jumping the M240B because you could use it as a crunch in the M1950 as you waited for hours during pre-jump, and 20minutes still green light with a good hundred+ pounds of extra weight.
Are you a 19D? If so, try and put in for CATII Sniper School when you get back. Either Benning or Camp Robinson as both teach a course for ASI now. I still know some of the instructors at the Robinson course. Not sure 19D's get the B4 ASI tagged onto their primary MOS (pretty sure they don't) but it'll at least be on record and you’ll get some good training. 19D's can get the course just as frequent (possibly more frequent) then 11B's.
on our 240 there is only one heat shield? maybe they skimpd us.

the 240g is a mini version of the 249 saw. the 240golf is used by army paratroopers (airborne) and marines, their small, comopact, and uses 5.56mm rounds. the 249 is same as 240g just non-collapsable stock and longer barrel.
and that is why i bought few weapons for myself and family for home security reasons...

Nope, 240g shoots 7.62 not 5.56 and the cyclic rate is on par with the SAW.

Do the newer M249 have a fun switch?
The one I used had a selector switch on the gas tube assembly that allowed either 600rpm, or when on Turbo, ~1000 rpm.

Damn that gas regulator was a ***** to clean, wasn't it?! I still have a Saw scrapper tool tucked away somewhere.
