Also, who cares about solely straight line acceleration?
The real fun happens in the twisty's and off-road, where the FF Neon gets dealt by WRX the bear****er....
I can call a tuner and add power to my REX easily.....what can a Neon guy do? add a bigger wing?? I mean come on, the Neon sucks....

it takes about $1000 in parts to get a WRX as fast as a neon off the line, and at that point the WRX has a HUGE advantage over the neon...Thats the Beauty of All Wheel Drive.

This is a Subaru forum, so I can say this: I don't care if it will do a 10sec 1/4 in reverse while giving you a BJ. It's still a Neon and therefore void of any comparison value in my humble opinion.
I used to have a Trans Am and people would rag on me saying their Civics were faster. Tssk tssk tssk - you just don't get it do you. You can turbocharge a lawnmower and make it go fast, but it's still a lawnmower. That said, I think it's cool Dodge stuck a turbo on the Neon and have priced it nicely. Just not for me.
If someone came up to me and said their car was faster than mine, I would probably say something like "well I bet you're glad you bought that one then, huh - have a nice day."

My wife wants me to buy her an SRT-4 so badly, but I refuse. I made my first mistake when I bought her that Stratus. This is coming from a Japanese National. Where is her patriotism and national pride. I will never, ever, buy another car that does not have a "J" as the first digit in the VIN number.

You must have some mods on your car or he was a probably a $hitty driver because the SRT should have the advantage in straight line accel stock vs stock, as if no one knew! What mph roll did you guys race from? Have you not seen the first vid yet of the 45mph roll? I'm sorry but that srt had 3 or 4 people with a HEFTY driver and the SRT pulled like mad on the WRX with two people in the WRX so that what just makes me wonder.
The first roll was from about 20 mph and the second was around 40 - it was no contest either way. He almost lost site of me around 100-110...

THIS is ALMOST stock, ya sure, lol. Well that definitly explains this whole race then, lol. And your probably doing like 12.X 1/4 miles? We're comparing apples and oranges here tho man. Good race tho!
Man, and you guys need to take it easy on the SRT, all I hear here is POS!!! People like they're raging and just goin off on this car. They just totally stomp it and just totally hate it with a passion. What the heck is some your guy's problems??? I just a car enthusiast, need I say more? Some of you need to chill out and quit hating on the fastest car under 20k. Anyhow, just wait till people start dumping some money underneath the hood of SRT, can you say stiff competition?

Ah yes, the SRT-4. Flame fodder for every car forum from Acura to Subaru.
Things are going to get really interesting when people start walking into Dodge dealers and order up the stage three kit from Mopar. Factory certified 300HP/300lb-ft for a Neon. Love it or hate it, it is damn impressive. Of course, it really isn't that impressive since they are already getting 215-220HP to the wheels, tehe.
