Santa Clara Valley Medical Center Sucks!

So as I was rushing out of my house Monday night to Fremont and I sprained my ankle BIG time. I swear I heard something popped, but I had to go. So I sucked it up and drove anyway. Then it started getting really bad and by the time I got home my ankle swelled up to a size of a small tangerine! But i figure, what the heck, just a sprained ankle, had that before. Put some ice on it and when to bed. Next morning, I couldn't even walk, or suspend my foot up in the air. It would hurt like hell for like 5 minutes even after I lay back down.

So the wife took me to the hospital, waited for 4 hours for 3 x-rays and had them tell me I am okay. Didn't even get to see a doctor, they just took my x-ray, a nurse came to give me the news and some paperwork and sent me home. What a joke!

However, it just didn't look right, so I called my mom's friend, who is a 'sport/athlete' doctor, or whatever you call them. He took a look and said it doesn't look right and had my wife go back to the hospital to get my x-ray. It turns out my bone was shifted by ~1mm or so and bones are touching one side of my foot when I move. And yep, you guessed, he had to shift it back into place. The movement I saw the x-ray I was like, f***, it's gonna hurt like a b****! And oh yeah, it did!

So now I can move a little without hurting like it did before and I just have wait for the swells and bruises to go away.

Both you guys need to shut it down and give it time to heal.
Unfortunately it's an extremity and will take longer to heal.
Walking on it or "toughing it out" will only extend the time to heal.

Yeah, no kidding... I haven't put a single oz of pressure on it since I went to bed Monday night. It hurts like hell still, but I do know that I am getting better...

I've been broken since august and I didn't put any weight on my leg after surgery for over 2 months and I still can't walk and still don't have my car back.

County hospitals are a pain to work with.

I know the feeling... I have a similar issue with my ankle, I sprained it about 3 years ago and it didn't set right so now it will either be hella stiff and painful or just fine.

In the meantime I would recommend one of these...

I hate that hospital.. I am a white girl and i married a chinese guy and i got nothing but **** for being married out of my race.. when they called my name i said that is me and they said no your not asian.. i was so pissed this went on for so long and when i got in the back of the ER they wouldnt let my husband come back with me and i had to argue for 6hrs to let him be there with me.. all in all i had to go and stay because my kidneys were failing and i had no choice.. needless to say of the harsh treatment i made a complaint to the admins and they sent me a bill saying paid in full.. Anytime my husband says hes taking me there for my other health problems i refuse.. ofcourse more went on during the time i was there but damn i dont want to go into all of it. All i can say is i never have been treated so bad ever in 33 years of seeing doctors.

yeah, i definitely felt A LOT better right after he moved it back into place... the swell went down about 75% as of this morning and I went in for a second treatment today. He put some weird Chinese medicine on it, whatever it is, it works! Mean while I am on crutches...

I dont blame you.. they left a really bad taste in my mouth... I hope you heal up soon!! I broke my ankle about 6m after bryan and i got married and it acts up at times so i know that kind of pain. Just take it easy and let it heal right the first time. Glad you went to another doctor and he figured it out.
