i definitely agree that greed has a lot to do with SF's current state of affairs. deregulation of public services usher in monopolies that will do anything for money or moral agenda, while THE PEOPLE suffer the consequences.

i still love the city though, and see it for what its worth, so im not gonna fully hate on it just yet, until i live there of course. then i'll have the right to drink the haterade.

with all the crap going on its easy to forget how cool it can be. After being out here 7 years I'm starting to hate it..but I'm also learning to appreciate different things. Like how many great restaurants and bars there are. Some of the great history, like the baths and cliff house (s). I went to Alcatraz for the first time...stuff like that. We have tons of awesome history out here.

My old company is doing major work in SF. Extending Caltrain and Bart to make one big massive underground station. It's a big job that I'm trying to get onto cause it will last a while.

on another positive note, you still will not run into friendlier (is that word?) people in alot of other big cities. i've lived in san diego for years, where the tension is palpable. its still a conservative town and going through growing pains. they didnt take too kindly to us yeller folk, and im really underspoken. LA is worse, they give 'pretentious' a whole new meaning in the form of hollywood. ok i went OT, sorry.

-stop signs and stop lights in the middle of no where, and there off
to the side and are hard to see
-cars feel free to stop in the middle of a busy road
-steep *** slopes

bad placE to drive... and its dirty everywhere(downtown)...

I lived in Chicago for a year. I am from NY. Troy isn't even comparable to SF. NY has a tough time maintiang roads due to snow, ice, and traffic. They are still better than any road in SF county.

There wi;ll never be any progress. SF board of stupidvisors do not allocate the funds to complete the jobs. The Unions put pressure to keep workers employed. So they dig a hole put a steel plate over it. 6 months later they pull the stell plate to replace the damage from uneven pavement and replace the steel plate. But remember Grusome Newsome is making road work a "top priority" for the fiscal year. Considering there is twelve years of neglect on the streets, it should be pretty easy for SF to take care of.... Right.

That's soon to be me (Sunset)... But thankfully I'll have the Forester as a daily driver.
