i don't get what people see in those things. they look like overgrown lawnmowers or geriatric rascal scooters on steroids, esp. the modded ones.

why not get a real sportbike for the same $$$$ they look a whole lot cleaner and handle better. i even rather have a clean 250 girly sportbike than a tricked out Ruckus. heck, gimme a ysr50 instead. seriously, ysrs are dope!

for some reason, i think these ruckus' can outhandle a 250 ninja in the streets of SF.

No streetbike geometry...and weight is made for weaving between traffic. Sportbikes dont handle until you get over 30 mph.

plus these guys get 100 mpg.

My 40 mpg dirtbike could outhandle a streetbike on a technical mtn from 30-60 mph just because the geometry allows you to steer and even trail brake and drift into turns if you are entering too hot, if you enter too hot on a streetbike, i think youre screwed.

Supermotos rule all under 60 mph.

Kind of reminds me of Vespas, rarely see anybody ride those nowadays. It looks like a fine short distance commuter, but I would feel like a kid on a tricycle anytime someone on a full blown motorcycle rode by. They are cute though.

To cruise around anywhere within 8-10 miles, I normally just take my bicycle. Infinite MPG

i don't doubt a stock ruckus would be fun to navigate on city streets but not them pimped out ones, esp the stretched ones &/or running wide rear meats. i mean, i'm not trying to hate on them or the ruckus heads, but dumping all that $$$$ into a scooter?? i love modding and can see doing bolt-ons, but like krinkov said.....throwing $10k into a ruckus?? aye carumba

btw, moto-bikes are actually pretty good on the streets. one of my fam used ride on the sfpd park squad w/them bikes. those things can go through anything!

Yeah i hear ya, thats why if i got a ruckus, i'd also buy a can of flat black and maybe make a cool seat and other cheap mods. white wall the tires and rat rod it out maybe.

Honda is F'ing up by not exporting these:

All they would have to do is throw on a CA pipe...that would be takin off once it left the dealer lot lol.

I would buy one in a second...Im actually making one of my own not street legal of course, but had to find a KX80 front end (disc brake) and still isnt as cool as this 100 with full disc, wheels etc.

i found that when i ride my bike, i end up buying more food and drinks, so its more like $5 for 5 miles which = $20 a gallon lol

actually, i shouldn't talk mess about ruckuses. last time i was on a scooter i had hella fun. it was eons ago in hawaii and on some janky honda+yamaha 50's, but we had like 25 of them for a week. only 23 made it back tho. 2 of my homegirls went over a cliff on the way to Hanauma--sp? Bay. All the girls insisted on getting their own scooters too, so it was a wrap after that. i'm surprised we only lost 2 of them.

seriously, it wasn't a joke tho. one of the girls got jacked up real bad and ended up needing plastic surgery later on. i think i told this story before, but, basically, 25 of us headed out to Hanama w/me and one of my boys leading the pack. we started going at it and left the rest in the dust for a bit. less than 5 mins later, this jeep pulls up alongside honking like crazy. we thought they were screwing around, but they started yelling, HEY, ARE YOU W/ALL THOSE OTHER PEOPLE?? YOU BETTER GO BACK CUZ SOME OF YOUR FRIENDS JUST WENT OVER THE CLIFF!! me and my boy just looked at each other like, WTF??

when we got back to the others, everyone was looking over the side, and some of the girls were crying. needless to say, i expected the worst and to see some of our friends laid out at the bottom. but when we looked over the side too, one girl crawls up over the side. she was all scraped up but pretty straight otherwise, so we look back down for the other girl and see her scooter hanging from a branch sticking outa the cliff 20 ft down. another 15 feet or so further, our homegirl is stuck on a ledge no bigger than a yoga mat. she was pretty messed up but still lucky as hell. all told, that cliff was about 100ft high. she woulda bought it for sure, had she not miraculously landed on that ledge.

sorry for the long story, but every time i hear about scooters, i remember that crazy trip. we got into a lot of other trouble that trip too. i still have some 'insurance' pics socked away if i ever have to blackmail my boys.....fun times. lol
