Shred on! Let me know when you guys are up here and want to ride. I live in Tahoe now and I rode with a few of you guys last year with Ben.

So stoked on finally getting snow!

Kirkwood's webcam is a little grainy at night, but the pictures they posted earlier in the day on their facebook page showed it was getting DUMPED on! I'm getting really excited!

Just got back from kirkwood and it was great, snow falling all day and coverage was great. I stayed away from tree runs because I know it's still way too low of a base for that.

I also had a learning lesson about my 2011 STi...
The car is still stock suspension wise and will stay that way, the wheel wells caked up with snow on the way up there and froze while I was having fun. I never had this issue over 4 years on my 05rs that was lowered 1". I would suggest clearing them out right as you park, probably only have to worry about the rears but it would be best to check them all.

I've had this happen to my wagon when it was lowered on just springs. Only the rear though and only on the passenger side. Had 2 other people in the car, so that side was weighted down more. Had to bust out the tire changing tool to chip the snow away before the massive storm came in and made it difficult to drive. Never had it happen again. I figured it was because I went from a slushy road to a snowy road. It was also when I went to Kirkwood, I had to take the long way cause 88 was closed.

It took me a bit to figure out why my car was not moving and I got my windshield cracked on the way up lol. As for kirkwood... I love that mountain, I was lucky enough to learn all the cutty runs from a few of the vets that we ride with. I can't wait until it really starts dumping.

Well, I can no longer resist the urge to get my 1st day in, so I'll be day-trippin' it to Bear Valley 2mrw. I have a handful of weekday vouchers to burn thru, so I might as well get started, eh?

Anyone else have any SnowBomb festival tix they need to use? They're expecting close to a foot & a half up top from this evening to mid-day 2mrw. Let's roll!

Kirkwood is by far the best place in CA for powder, for depth of powder, lack of people, amm of ungroomed trails, and chopped powder at times when other places are so icy you can't ride. Don't want to argue, it just is.

I could argue about the lack of people comment, but not the rest of it. And it'd be pointless anyway, the amount of people still doesn't take away from the runs you can get at Kirkwood.
