Not much of a problem now, just the one I found this morning. I'll be setting traps for the remainder of the week to see how it goes.

I think they'll be back in full force when autumn rolls around, but I'll be ready.

I tried to buy those jaws for my problem, only they wouldn't fit in the opening that the mice come through. They come up through a hole in the floor and through my cabinets to get to my food, but they only stay in the area that is not tall enough for that trap. I bought the small wood base ones with metal traps, I've hit something three times with it escaping by pulling the trap off, can't believe it. There were teeth marks in the last trap from it snapping down on the head and the teeth going into the wood, tough little son of a *****.

Last year, I put the trap on top of my dog's cage. The old trap caught something, but the rodent got away. I saw a little blood splatter against the wall, and part of the plastic trap was chewed up. I couldn't find any missing limbs though, but the trap was definitely triggered.

This year, I put the trap in my dog's cage so the rats can't escape, close the cage, and my dog sleeps safely in the garage. I hose down the cage periodically.

Notice how the trap has flipped upside-down.

I'm posting my last picture on this topic. These critters won't ever stop coming, and I figure 15 pictures are enough.

Unfortunately, it gets too time-consuming. I had no idea when I set out that there would be so many dead rats. Maybe I can give verbal body counts.

I got two more since last time, but I was too lazy to take any pictures. Maybe I'll take a picture for the 20th.

Stop killing cats. put them in a cage instead and watch them fight.

The one above was with a Springfield model 1911 .45 ACP. I hit him with a 185grain Hollowpoint in the chest, exiting his left side(the side that's on hte ground). He was in a tree ~50ft away @ 2:30am.

This one was in a tree ~40ft away again at o'dark thirty.
The gun is Remington 870 Marine Magnum 12gauge.

I hate shooting these ****ers, but the state/DFG won't do anything except give me the # to a trapper that's gonna do the same thing as me, but charge the state for it.

I asked DFG if I can capture & relocate these cats, but they tell me it's illegal for me to do that.

I can kill it but I can't relocate it.
