Rock boards? heres mine... kinda

everytime i see a new scratch on my new board it feels like i just lost a child... so enough is enough. i bought a sh*tty 30 rental board. i'ma fix it abit, maybe trick it out. buttttt..... heres what i have so far...

Started with crap

I filled it scratches and sand it down.. then i went at it with some filler primer.

I still got some work to do... think up a graphic... thinkin something simple white... red stripe and small 3 or 4 inch graphic of my chinese name... then spray it with a clear epoxy.

what kinda rock boards do you guys have?

cool. Just the fact that i ride my neighbors Burton is enough motivation to make me avid every rock sticking out, even if it means bailing and rolling down the rest of the hill haha. only 1 big gouge over 10 days thats pretty good

I failed to adhere to the rule of never bringing a board early on in the season.

After the first decent storm back in Dec. decided to take out the skate banana and was floating under the lift lines until I skipped over a rock (I swear it looked like just a soft mound) and ostriched it.

Laughter from above ensued.

I just use one of my old boards. I've got enough boards at this point that I've got an early season pow board and an all-around f*ck it up board. That thing looks pretty damn good though!

I smashed one of my good boards a few times this weekend but came away pretty good. My brother did a number on his but he was running his rock board. I got lucky.

I was smashing some OB stuff and came up on some dirt.

Both my boards are rock boards. They just won't die! (well, I keep fixing them so I guess it's my fault).

i dont think its a big deal, its just like a scratch on a skate deck...

It only effects your speed like .01mph per scratch...as long as it doesn't delaminate or whatever.

I don't do boxes or rails since its my neighbors board, so i cant wait to get my own.

it really depends on the extent of the damage. most people dont get through the base. if you break all the way through the base you essentially lose the seal, and wood cores can get soggy. this happened to an old lib tech of mine in utah pre-season. i fixed it all up nice, but it was never the same because it got water logged

^It shouldn't be that bad if you get it P-tex'd quickly and a nice fresh base grind. I've done that to a few boards and they've held up well after a core-shot.

Yea I got a slight line in mine this weekend. But dude, we gotta take a picture of Jordan's other board that he's still repairing.
