Bank Robbery Puts Walnut Creek School On Lockdown

WALNUT CREEK (BCN) ― Las Lomas High School in Walnut Creek was on voluntary lockdown Thursday afternoon after a nearby bank was robbed, Walnut Creek police said.

Police received a call reporting that the Washington Mutual bank branch at 1390 S. Main Street had just been robbed, police said.

The school, located on the same block at 1460 S. Main Street, was notified of the incident and school officials decided to go on lockdown.

The school district was referring all calls to police.

really bright to rob a bank that just went under...... cause thats were all the money is....

 

Well i think by law banks are suppose to carry a certain amount of cash daily.
WaMu(aka: chase) is still open. People still have money there. Why would they have the least amount of cash?
Sucks that the bank has to get robbed.

 

wamu is one of the worst places to rob...all the money is handed by machine.

I personally know one of the tellers at that branch. She was one of the two that were robbed. Tellers are told to comply, but I still think they should have an armed LEO at all bank locations around here to stop this ****.

 

I have a LOT!! of money in WAMU and everything is fine. they got bought out by a better bank so it's all good

Shoot (pardon the pun) a little more than a week ago they wouldnt have been able to tell the difference between a bank robber and an angry customer.

the branch in dublin is a huge WAMU headquarters or something, and the tellers still hand out the cash
