Registered for a consealed weapon????

How can you get registered in the state of california???

Do you have to be in law enforcement or can you get it some other way.

In the bay, or anywhere near the bay? Pretty much the only way is via employment in law enforcement.

Some specific counties in CA, however, are a bit more giving. Kern is one, I believe, a well as a few in the extreme north. Those are county specific and will not allow you to carry in other counties as a rule of thumb.

and you feel you need one why? this is california buddy the chances of your local police cheif letting you get a permit is slim to none!

you drink you've been to a war zone and you're life is not threatened in the line of work you do. that right there is to much risk for a cheif of police to chance on you!

but you can always try

Yeah, good luck getting one. Ask Nancy Pelosi if she can hook you up...she's got one BTW.

I live in the country. I drive on canyon roads on a daily and nightly basis. I live on a road that is isolated....at the end of that road with only one way out. I have a kid on my road that deals drugs and a community of illegals at the other end.

A fine example is....yesterday. I was leaving and this truck was stopped on my road. I saw an appliance in the back of his car and figured he was probably about to dump it there...it happens on a somewhat regular basis..despite the big sign that says no dumping... The guy gets out of his truck so I figured he needed something. I drove along side the truck to get on the highway and leave. The guy looks at me so I rolled my window down and said...what's up. This dude says...what's up homie...in the way that when you've been in enough fights you know what it means...so I drove away. He kicked my car...hard. I grabbed my mag light. If I was alone I probably would have beat the living **** out of this guy. But my wife and brother in the car I thought it better to just leave..mind you I had to sit there and wait for room....enough time for this guy to go back to his truck then come walking at me. I got off the road a bit up the road. Called the cops...they spent so much time transfering me from CHP to Sherriff that they dude came driving out after me....after I told the cops that I was worried for the safety of the woman and child with him.

The dude pulls over in front of me. I drive away...and he literally jumped out of his car screaming. I honestly thought he was gonna plug a couple shots into my car or jump in front of me and die.

All the waste of time ****ing CHP could do was say....o.k. we'll put a call out. I'm like what the **** good is that gonna do when he drives me off the road.

Well apparently my wife saw the guy this morning on highway one...driving right next to her. He didn't notice her because she was in her car......but strangely enough.....I was driving about a half a mile ahead of her.

at the very least I intend to buy a fire arm for the house. I'm sick of worrying about people coming up on my house. I've caught people in my garage...which has an access door to my house. I've seen people sitting under the tree at the end of the drive way. Parked on my dirt road...etc.

We intend to move soon but I am ****ing done with it. I don't worry about me but I do worry about my wife, dogs and brother.

I think you can also get one if you are a P.I. or a bounty hunter and are registered with the state, I also remember reading a while back in the paper that a man in the bay area got one because he had been jumped and mugged at gun point a few times and convinced the state that he no loner felt safe and that he needed one for his own protection.

Or you can just what all my red neck friends do that live up mines rode put a gun rack in your truck or car and carry around a loaded 12 gage shotgun if you live that far out in the boonies no one's really going to care J/K

Buy a shotty for the house. A side arm might not be a bad idea and can be loaded and on your person as long as you are in your home. Once you leave your property however, there isn't much you can do.

On crazy nights around here like new years or halloween, or on nights where I hear the ghetto bird one too many times, I often walk around my house with a loaded .40 in a paddle holster.

That's what I was thinking....the bounty hunter or private security kind of deal. I wouldn't mind getting into that anyways.

a 10mm would work fine. i would go for something with a little more "stopping power" though

Seriously, nothing works better than an 870.

10mm is really expensive, which means you're less likely to practice with it often. I went the rout of .357sig/.40sw and .45acp for mine as the ammo is fairly cheap, so I know I'll practice, and both have plenty of stopping power.

damn OneManArmy thats crazy

i use to always carry my gun in my car but the more i thought about it over the years i now only keep it at the house, i figured having it in the car is to risky... last thing i need is something like what happened to you happen to me and my *** gets scared and cocky and instead of driving away i confront him and put myself in a position were i end up using it getting me in a hug heap of ****

i prey to GOD no one ends up breaking into my house while im home... owning a gun is something that must be done with alot of respect and restraint, ive already told myself that i wont defend my car or my property ONLY my life.

i just can't imagine the hell ill go thru if i every do have to use my gun to stop someone from harming me, why? because California laws protect criminals and prosecutors only charge the innocent.

3 quick accurate shots are mo' beta than 8 unaccurate ones with a larger caliber.

My uncle got in a fire fight with a guy once with his detective issue 357...plenty of stopping power...mind you my uncle is VERY proficient with a fire arm....he missed the guy with all 6. Reload is not efficient...etc.

Next day he went back to a 45.
