Redwood city next for E85 station!!
Not going to get into this arguement as I have no skin in the game, but to think Ethanol doesn't affect food prices is somewhat delusional. Read this
Because if its more expensive to feed a pig, its going to cost more to raise a pig. The economics of why ethanol doesn't make good sense at this time, in America, are real, solid, and proven.

You are totally delusional. GO do yourself a favor and download KING OF CORN.
The stuff used for ethanol is not even close to being an edible and digestible corn. The fact is percentage of corn grown to eat is very small. Point being it's not the same product as what we eat.
The point of the documentary is that everything as a result is corn derived, and corn feed. Steak you buy at safeway comes from Cows that would die in 6 more months if they kept ingesting the corn byproducts and scraps and crap quality corn they are feed. It's fairly disturbing. Be better off using fuel from it. Besides all the factual information the overall feeling of the farmers is pretty bad as well.

Not really. The way I understand it, it take ~20-30% more E85 to go the same distance as gas. At $3.80, e85 is only about 15-16% cheaper than gas. So the lines don't cross. You'd need e85 to sell at $3.30 to just break even. Did I get that right?

Plus don't you need a tune and injectors. So that initial cost needs to be factored in as well.
