the whole point to 105 octane fuel is that it doesn't detonate. The whole point behind subaru hypercast pistons breaking off ringlands is detonation.
I think you should be fine running e85 without a built engine. Stock crank and rods are forged.
Hoping this movement gets squashed soon though: E85 is the most retarded 'alternative fuel' ever created and inflates edible corn prices in places where people need it as a foodsource.

Oh I already know all about E85 and how well it performs, I was saying I need a built engine to run my dom3 on, lol I don't think the stock wrx engine would last long with the tourqe numbers this thing would put out haha.

Your car must be tuned to run on e85 which is basically 105 octane. Yes, it does effect performance. In a great way ;D. Good HP and TQ gains as well as being able to pass the sniffer while being catless.

Yes you need a map(tuned for E85) You can do an open source tune or use an Accesport. Like Apetron said mostly basic things.
I'll be getting a E85 tune in the near future and I'll be using my stock turbo(VF-39) with these supporting mods. Some necessary others not.
Hallman MBC (Better turbo response)
KS Tech 73mm Intake (Not needed, but I have one)
DW 850cc sidefeed injectors (Biggest sidefeed currently available)
Helix Catted DP
Greddy EVO2 catback
Golan Stainless steel fuel filter 40micron 5-16th barb fitting
(The reason I bought this was to eliminate the intake filter on the STi. The in tank filter is made of paper and was concerned that E85 would break down the paper element and clog my lines. Nation did a nice little write up on removing his in tank filter and relocating it into the engine bay and used a Golan filter.

Exhaust and DP are just my preferences along with all the parts I'll be using.
Maybe Ed will chime in and get you better answer if I forgot anything

i was using that in context to show the correct usage of affect and effect. I see my opinion angers you though, seeing that you've taken up ownership of the collective voice. sorry for voicing my opinion with facts backing it
