Record Player
So my girlfriend of almost one year (march 7th) is turning 18 march 11th. I want to get her a record player (vinyl), but I'm really a noob regarding that kind of stuff. So if I got her a record player, would she have to get specific speakers? I don't know, any insight would be helpful, thanks.

if you want turntables, youll also need a mixer and for sound im just using my stereo with an aux port and does the job.

also, dont forget that you just CANT a turntable to a normal RCA inputs on a receiver since the output has what is called an RIAA curve:

newer turntables these days know about the curve and has it built into the output section. that's why you'll see turntable specific INPUT jacks since those have the RIAA CURVE equalization compensated for. if you plug the TT outputs into other jacks you can hear the difference.
some really newer TTs even have a USB output so you can plug them directly to a computer to rip vinyl... lol...

of course if you really treat her, get her some really high end stuff in the 4 figure range...
