Arrow Recommendation to fix up-pipe exhaust leak please

So apparently the guy that installed my uppipe / downpipe combo did a bad job and now its leaking. Bringing it back to the same guy is probably not a good idea (I actually did try to get him to fix it ... long story... another day). Anyways, I went to a golden auto in daly city / colma area and they quoted me 180! That was a surprise to me.
A friend of mine recommended me to try golden auto in downtown san francisco.

Does anyone have a recommendation?

Thanks in advance!

i kinda dont get how someone can do a bad job on installing an up pipe or down pipe? Did he not tighten the bolts enough, or what?

What other mods do you have? And what brought you to conclusion that it's leaking? I mean, it is only like what, 8 bolts..

I remember a while back when I installed my uppipe and downpipe [both catless], I tried to boost like an idiot right after. Although it sounded nice, I got no kind of power. Got a tune a couple days later and everything was fine.

Up pipe sometimes have bad fitment and it's easy to leak, there's a specific order to tighten the parts in. I think the Grimmspeed install shows that.

I was going to ask what brand up pipe you got. The connecting flange may not be straight as it is a pretty hard thing to do wrong. As long as the gasket is there and you tighten it down properly its almost impossible to screw up.

Also curious as to what lead you to believe it is the dp leaking.

You'd be surprised how badly a shop can fubar the install.... let's just say a couple snapped studs on my head.

To the OP... I think there used to be a list of shops in the bay... I think one of the best close to you is AutoHQ in Redwood City.

I have a helix upppipe with a helix downppipe on a cobb stage2 flash. The place where I got the repair quote from jacked up the car and showed me it was leaking from the uppipe area.

Take it to one of the shops that are listed here that know Subarus well. Easy fix.
