I never said anything about ohio or idaho, and I have never been there. Not sure where you got that - seemed silly to say as it has nothing to do with our discussion. Either way, I hope my comments were seen as my opinion and nothing more/less. Glad you like it here - so do I for the most part. But then, I liked it in all kinds of other places/things I can't really afford for a lifetime.
No worries brah. Even though you love it here and you are representin' n shizz, would you say that what most of the people have said here is wrong?

oh, i totally agree with many of the points people have pointed out. especially the housing cost. i just wanted to point out some of the positives for the guy. i also think where i live maybe has had a different influence on me. In the east bay (orinda), we dont have the killer traffic like the south bay people do. or anyone on 880 has. and driving to my house is like a mini-mt hamilton drive. good weather. 15 minutes from SF. lotsa hills and tree's in a nice quiet suberb. so lots of what people are complaining about, with the exception of the housing costs, do not apply to me. I'm not saying what you guys said arent true.. cause i am sure they are true of your area. i just dont want g-dogg thinking every city in the bay is some traffik-congested, concrete jungle.

I will check the 'good eats' thread - you betta have put some up there after all that talk.
Good discussion indeed.

These aren't in the good eats thread, but I like these pake restaurants: ABC Seafood in Foster City, Parc Hong Kong in San Francisco and Sunnyvale, Koi Palace in Daly City, **** Yuen in Millbrae, Seafood Harbor in Millbrae (only good for dim sum lunch though) are a few that come to mind. I can't remember the addresses, but you can probably Mapquest'em
I'll add more as I can remember heh heh...

Lotsa big Samoan and Tongan bruddah's too haha.
I had a link, Pacific Islanders' Resources page, that covers a lot of events and businesses in the Bay Area. I'll get the URL in a bit (since I can't remember it for now)

i take it you have never been there before with those statements
its amazing how so many people are clueless as to what certain states are like and make obsurd assumptions.
kind of good i guess because it keeps people from moving there and keeps it a good state

Though... You need to keep in mind that we all have different opinions. I have spent a good amount of time in the Phoenix area as well as travelling thru on 10 and 40 quite a bit, and you couldn't pay me to live in Arizona. It's not because it's lame or anything, but just because I don't like it. Maybe Xero also does not like it there. Something to consider anyway.

I meant no offense Ish (or to BruceLee for that matter) but I consider the eastern hills of San Jose to be too arrid for my liking, so I was over-stating my dislike of dry climates to express a point, sorry if it was offensive. As for having been in Arizona, I've driven across it twice and been there two more times for business purposes. And yeah, you couldn't pay me to live there, simply because I like lush green areas like the coastal hills we have here in California (Santa Cruz Mountains and Woodside etc etc.) I love the Bay Are because you can be a total outdoor tree hugging backpacking granola freak (which I frequently am) all day long and go be an urban city dwelling beer swilling hipster later on that night at some lil' club in the City. We've got gorgeous hills, fog, rain, sun etc etc.
Anyway, enough of my blabbering... I love the friggin Bay, I'm rabidly proud of the area but I still gotta point out that both Seattle and Vancouver have a lot of what SF has without being as friggin expensive.
I'm STILL thinking about moving to Vancouver.
though I don't think it's as culturally diverse.

If you want to do sales but can't hook up a job at a Subaru dealership, PM me about a job at SurfControl(www.surfcontrol.com).
There are more awesome driving roads here then you can shake a stick at, lots of subies, and lots of everything else you have/don't have on the islands. The only thing you will really miss is the seafood, but even that can be special ordered.

Yeah, move to like LA or NY or something... I'm sure it's less crowded there...

In all seriousness, it's too expensive for everything here. My dad and I are in real estate, and I would like to advise and emphasize the crazy *** pricing we get here. I really do suggest places with reasonable pricing that's going to save you a bundle. Not to mention, property value that's going to boom much faster and better than the Bay Area today (considering it's stable here cause it's been already developed)

Sac houses are good for the price now, but my parent's just bought a home near the Elk Grove and the price went from 500 for the plot and build, and now it's near 800. Lots of people moving there.. prices jump.
