RE-11's & others on closeout at Tirerack

If anyone is looking for tires, seems there's a bunch of other models also on closeout.

RE-11's are 25% off for 235/40/18's:

how do these compare to the RE-070?

the price for them did go down.

the 225-45-15 of the RE-11 is $163 vs $189 for the '070s...

shipping might be cheapER if they ship from NV instead from the midwest center...

RE-11s are barely street tires. That's the difference.

The shipping does kind of offset any potential savings from the closeout sale.

RE070s suck as a performance tire and a street tire.

would the 11s be a good daily driver replacement for the 070s?

Wow... I loved the RE01's and haven't tried these yet. I've got a set of Direzza Z1's waiting to be used... I wonder if I should get these too....

The RE01's where simply amazing (I still have em on my car right now, but they are end of life). Fun for daily, incredibly grippy (way more than you'd ever need on the street). Very impressive in the wet (I did a wet tarmac autox-rallyx with them was very impressed). Never got out to the track with them, unfortunately.
