RANT: sprint's f'in retarded

i just want to rant here and dont care if you guys wanna flame, chime or watever.

i've had my service with sprint with about 3 years now... and its time i think i get a new phone.

so i call sprint to find out what kinda deal i can get on an upgrade. i was told that i could NOT do an upgrade.

i asked why not? they explained that within the past year i changed my esn over to another phone, and by doing so automatically extends me again. i asked whats the deal with that policy?! my phone broke, so i had it replaced as part of my service plan with bestbuy. and now sprint extends my contract.

how f'in retarded.

anyone offer any advice before i blow up here?

Ask them to show you that in the policy. Call Best Buy and get all your service reciepts. Then go into a Sprint store in person and get it all sorted out.

Phone support won't do anything for you. It's almost as if it's a separate business.

best bet, with all cell phone companies, just get pissed. start yelling, tell them you are going to cancel and make sure ALL your friends and family will do the same. usually, they will push you onto a manager who will diffuse the situation via making exceptions.

Sprint sux anyways go with another provider. My company phone use sprint. They sux and their tech support sux even more.

I do find yelling and cursing works real good. I think all companies are shaddy. I use to have cingular and they cancel my plan whcih allows me to call Canada for free just because I move from Seattle to Washington. They didn't even let me know and just charged my card.

Nope. A workmate of mine was ranting about Verizon over a similar issue as the OP.

He bought a phone on a 1 year contract. The battery failed after 7 months. The phone's warranty was only 90 days and wouldn't cover it, so he asked about another phone. They said that he was not eligible until the year was up. His options were: buy a new phone at full price, buy a used one off eBay, or pay the cancellation fee and close the contract. As it happened, another co-worker was dumping his Verizon phone to get an iPhone, so he has lent the other guy his phone for the duration of the contract.

Pretty much all of the wireless companies have these issues. You only have to look at the recent changes in law w.r.t. billing you if your phone gets stolen. They really have way to much power.

how long before they said you can upgrade? They do that when someone other than the stores themselves change out your phone. I never go to any other place or even use the customer service number...i always go str8 to the store.

verizon is far worse when it comes to customer service
and the other plans...well if they had reception half the time they might be okay! haha.

You must not have called them for customer support yet. I had nothing but problems with Verizon, nothing but problems with AT&T... and nothing but great customer support and great service with Sprint
