but eh
edgar,
P.S. this goes for motorcycles too.. damnit let us by dont be so damn prideful!!!
i almost killed a bicylcist once. i parked my car. and when i was getting out, he zoomed by. the door almost slammed into him! i felt so bad. :[ i didn't even see him in the mirror before i got out. it was a semi curved downward hill... :/
another time... while i was runninng, i was so stuffed up that i catapulted a huge phelgm! it was like a platooooey! i think it landed on the biclycist that passed me, but he didn't notice ><

reading some of these posts kinda upsets me. yeah, i do admit that some riders just dont get the concept of staying to the right of the road, but thoes riders are just a small percentage of the riders out there. honestly, there are a lot more a-hole drivers than there are riders. i ride a bike every day all over san francisco and its like playing a real life video game some times. I have to watch out for jerks that dont look back to see if anyone is comming and open their door (ive been doored twice-NOT fun), idiots that dont signal and turn on to a steet, forcing you to turn too or ride into the side of their car and million other things. some drivers just dont care because they have not been in that postion of having to ride a bike at 15 mph and have cars pass you at 65 mph.
a few funny stories about cycleist obeying the law
i have a friend who is hardcore into mountain biking, and once on his way home, he was going down a big hill in a 25 zone and was clocked and ticketed for speeding, he showed me the ticket, it was funny
another time in woodside(lots of bikers) i saw like a group of 5 get pulled over for running a stop sign, i rolled down my window and laughed at them!
i have no problem when they are in the bike lane and not making driving dangerous and risking lives

If I bike, I would surely stay as close to the curb as possible. I sure as hell wouldn't ride side by side and come remotely close to encroaching on the car lane. Am I nice and courteous...HELL NO. I'm just deathly afraid of a-hole drivers and all variety of ignorant, cell phone talking, not even looking at the road drivers. I hate to say it, but these bikers aren't a-holes...they're class A dumb@sses...the a-holes are the people in the car.
and yes, when I'm in a car, I'm equally pissed by these bikers that encroach in the car lane and think they can even maintain 30mph.

i personally do not like cyclists, cause they act like the own the road. i live up on the mountains so i'm around them all the time. i act very polite towards them... slow down for them, and stop for them, but they never appreciate any of it. they just bike on by, and never give me a nod or wave, nothing. yea i agree its dangerous for both them and car drivers, cause a lot of the times i have to take up both lines just to pass them.
