This is the whole story:
The kid and his dad came down friday Dec 31st to look @ the car.
They drove it for awhile...liked it and we agreed on a price $3530.
That is $1600 or so OVER blue book.
Later in the afternoon we wrote up a bill of sale where the father asked me i write it up for $700 rather then the $3500 to save them some money.
I fill out the pink slip...give that to them, they take it...we both complete/sign the bill of sale.

I get $3500 cash.

When it was clear they were buying the car, the kid started askin dad about taking the car home...no less then 4 times did i ask them to take the car.

The Father kept on saying " Its to dangerous..its raining...he doesn't know the area...blah blah blah.."
I even told the guy " U know there isn't a better car to drive in the rain then a AWD car with new suspension and tires.....U should take the car home."

They left the car..and said either i would drop it off later..or the more likely thing they would come pick the car up the next day.

I get home...as it is no longer my car, I mail my DMV paperwork and cancel the insurance.

Overnight the car gets flooded..guess what, its totaled.

I check with my insurnace company...they say that the new owner should be covered under his policy...as per state law...and he is.

I check into running it on my insurance..i would get Blue Book value...$1700 or so.

Your father agreed this not be run on your insurnace as you had just recently totaled a car...and they too would more likey then not only pay about $1700 or so.

If i wanted to be a dick..i could of called them and said...come pick your POS up..in a tow truck

The father tried to get me to pay for the car...he wanted $2000 and then he wanted to file a claim and collect from his insurance company..thats fraud...and that shows your familys nature.

If you have anybody to blame young man..its your father for refusing to let you take the car home.

This thing would of never happened had you done what any person sensible would of..Why the hell should i pay for your bad judgement?

I asked a few people what i should do...many said to let you worry about it...as it was your choice to not take the car, even after you were advised otherwise and all the paperwork and pinkslip was done,...and as it was covered under your insurance...a few people said to split the loss...I did better then that..I gave you back $2000 and have nothing but a totaled car to show for it.


I am disgusted at your stunts...and at you.

I did more then whats fair...I could of left you hung out to dry, but I didn't.
