Quick JDM Engine question

so 93 L's are OBD 1, so does that mean I can legally swap in an EJ20G or any JDM Suby engine of my liking?

Dude is selling a swapped RS with a 2006 WRX engine, using a 2004 STi intake manifold and 2004 STi wiring, I'm tempted to buy this but can any swap guru's chime in and tell me if this is gonna be a problem car? or will it run just fine.

Cesar just swap it yourself usually buying someone else's project tends to become endless headaches.
A. you do not know what they did(unless you know them and was there to have an idea how it was put together)
B. Satisfaction of finishing a swap and having it run flawlessly.
C. You have a car with OBD-1
D. I would go with USDM parts are readily available and remember most ej20g are very old.
E. 2.5l =] ftw!

btw the link is such bs LOL "The engine is basically a 2004 STi engine with a 22,000 mile 2006 WRX 2.5L Longblock.
2006 WRX TD-04 Turbo"

but you definitely not going to pass smog if you buy that car especially with a fmic, intake etc, the rest if there isnt any codes and tuned right possible, mainly visual

Although the ej255 and ej257 are similar except the slight bump in compression with pistons and diff turbo its pretty much the same still does't mean it is basically a 04 sti motor haha

pre-OBD2, as long as it passes sniffer and visual, you will be fine.

Getting it reffed, though, and doing it all CORRECTLY is another story.
