Not even enough info to speculate on. Get the code read at Autozone, Torque app for your phone, something, then post the code and this question.

Yes, they can go away on their own. Best to get it read while it is still current.

My guess would be gas cap but could also be a million other things.

I got one of those bastards just as I was about to go SMOG last week

I had to clear it then drive 45 miles miles up and down the freeway before I could test...

Car Info: a blue car.
CEL doesn't usually mean catastrophic engine failure. It has a large range of reasons for it to come on, starting from a simple loose gas cap.

Since your engine is still running fine, and noticed no differences, I wouldn't worry about it. A lot of cars still runs fine with a CEL.

I would still get the code pulled. Sure you can drive around with a MIL for a gas cap but if it was a lean/rich code, I wouldn't want to keep driving around with a vacuum leak/bad maf.

Went to the shop this morning if i (remember correctly )it was a 301 303 on the passenger side but we reset it so ill drive around untill the cel comes up again the pull it to see if its the same then give it a leak test swiych code packs and go from there i guess but for now just wait to see if the cel light comes up again..so strange the cars running perfect
