Post up a couple of images that are showing the so-so quality. Is it due to slow shutter speed while hand holding? is it soft due to not being in focus? etc..
It will be easier for us to understand what you mean if you post a couple examples.

Now what you should work on is just basics of photography such as composition, getting to understand equivalent exposures by variating the shutter and aperture blah blah blah.
Sounds like you are having fun so far though which is the main idea.
Yeh, but DAMNIT, this weather SUCKS! It's 10 AM and its dark outside, so I still can't test the sigma outside with light, that's the problem. Since the sigma has f/4-5.6, it needs very good light, or else the pictures will come out, kinda soft. I did however get a sharp image, and some closeups. Here you go.
John

This is a sharp image, handheld, I'm not sure if it was in macro/normal mode, standing 5-6 feet away.

The lens is nice, I just need to learn how to use it, the 50mm F/1.8 kicks ass, almost every time I use it. The kit lens isn't bad. Here are some more pics of the sigma in macro mode, about 4-7 ft away from all the objects handheld at 200-300mm.

More Sigma Lenses....Random pictures, but I can't go outside to take pictures of flowers/trees/nature in general because the wind will kill me.
why wouldn't a F-mount work on a D3?
I am not saying that they will not work. I have some 12 year old Nikon lens that did not work on my D80. So not sure what other technology that will prevent some lenses not to work on the new cameras.

Ahh, I remember the good ol' days, just shooting randoms shots, no angle, no thought process, no reason for shooting...

haha, jk. Shots are lookin good, I dunno why, but I'm inclined to purchase only canon lens's...I can't seem to suck it up and just buy another brand...

JDM555 01-04-2008 05:07 PM

Hmm, If I only could go outside right now and use a tripod, I would take a lot of shots. I can't wait until tomorrow or sunday where I can go out during the cloudy day, and take pics of wet flowers/leaves/etc. It will be fun.

hehe, more like tuesday bro! (= apparently this is supposed to last for a while or something...

JDM555 01-04-2008 05:18 PM

Yeh, I don't even want it to be completely sunny (although that would kick ass) I just want it to stop raining for 10 minutes so I can snap a few shots. Monday is Cloudy, then Tues/Wed/Thurs=Rain...sucks

SubyN00by 01-04-2008 05:22 PM

It's pretty much calmed down here where I am.

JDM555 01-04-2008 05:47 PM

Yes, it calmed down around 3-4 PM, the rain has stopped dramatically and it's only sprinkling and the wind is all gone....Dude, thank God the wind is gone, the chairs in our backyard were all OVER the place and the water was going crazy, looked like I could surf in the pool LOL.

SubyN00by 01-04-2008 06:20 PM

JDM555 01-04-2008 06:23 PM
