yes the WRX one is larger than the STi one...
The 04 Sti oil filter is also used on the 04 forester and 04 WRX

haha yah in order to filer i heard it has to be mounted and connected to a running motor. I think it is just a rumour tho seems to be filetering stuff fine sitting in my garage..
