Sorry to thread hijack, but what do you guys recommend for a slimmer digital camera for around the same price? The Canon S90 looks great, but looks a bit thick.
The thing is, I'm planning to get a digital camera for my GF, so it's gotta be in the slimmer range, stylish, has nifty features, and above average picture quality. I'm aware of the Nikon cameras with the touchscreen and all those little features, but anything else?

Canon SD940 for a point and shoot.
$199 on Amazon
Wide angle lens will be great for people shots. I'll be getting this one soon.
A few people I know have the SD780 and love it (one of them also has a Canon 5D mk II). Superb picture quality for a point and shoot.

The S90 is awesome, I love mine. Great image quality, and my primary camera is a DSLR with decent glass so that's saying something.
It's worth the extra couple bucks.

A little off tangent here, I was also looking at the Panasonic LX3 and I've been mulling over that one vs. the Canon S90. I don't have the fundage to commit to a DSLR yet (waiting until I can afford and find an available Canon 550D T2i), but I still want bad *** pictures at a relatively compact size. Also looked into the Olympus E-PL1 in the micro 4/3's market.

the two companies that seem to be making the best ones right now are Canon and the Sony but both make many different modals in that price rang
