Anyone been getting a lot of Ku alerts lately? I was reading that they have been using it in europe for a while. I still get Ka alerts but the Ku I guess is under the K band. I don't understand how it all works but def been picking it up. And I have been Lidar'd regularly in pinole on 80.

Another heads-up: Along W/B I-80 thru Vallejo, CHP like to "hide out" on the right shoulder past the Hunter Hill rest area (think big hill w/ view of Vallejo where Discovery Kingdom/Marine World is on the right). They tuck in the shade of the Hwy 37 overcrossing, esp. in the mid-morning when the shadow is in a perfect spot to help them nab folks who can't help but haul it down the declining freeway.

Ya I noticed a chp chillin on the shoulder by the rest stop onramp in vallejo today at about 6pm. They've been hitting I-80 through vallejo/fairfield/suisun pretty hard these past couple days. Good thing I was in the xterra and not the subie lol.

I'm in Marin. I thought CHP was just using LIDAR now.
I was sitting watching a cycle shooting people. (in Novato).
Everytime he raised it my detector was going off.
It was KA.

On E/B I-80 as you come into Vallejo, be on the lookout for the moto-chippie on the righthand shoulder just past the crest of the Hunter Hill rest area. I spotted the sneaky-snake as I was coming up the hill in the other direction. I have to admit it's a damn good spot for him since drivers will just be coming out of the pocket fog that's in the area.

Hopefully, my li'l heads-up will have him shaking his fists saying, "Curses! Foiled again!"

Someone posted the other day about the new fines for 2011 and in that thread they also stated chp was going to issue 30% more fines this year. The thread said new fines started 1/06/11

I got a 80mph speeding ticket 2 days ago on 208 south in San Mateo
I was going over 80 so whatever, its cool, It was happens
anyway, the cop told me they r now using Lidar in San Mateo so watch yourself around there....

About a half hr ago on W/B I-80 on the downgrade below the Hunter Hill rest area in Vallejo, a black & white CHP was tucked into a spot on the right shoulder under the Hwy-37 crossover. I was in the right lane when he jumped into his car as I passed him. He was in my lane as he closed in on his target... a black Suburban that had passed me on the left as we were coming down the hill. Pulled him over at the Redwood Pkwy exit.
