In the Milpitas/San Jose region... Both ways... saw three bike cops just waiting with LIDAR guns... saw a cruiser with a car pulled over too... This was like a 10 mile stretch.

 

what do the lidar guns look like? how are they different from radar? just wondering so I can know what to look out for too

 

I dunno, but my radar detector sure went crazy on the laser band! No radar...

Laser is instant unlike radar which takes a second or two to register

A laser detector is more often than not only going to warn you once you're already painted. However, a cop has to be stationary and have a clear line of site to nail you, so your eyes are much better than a laser detector.

 

and apparently Lidar is practically un-debateable in a judge's eyes...

 

about two weeks ago, there were two cars that were stopped by motorcycle cops off the 680, milpitas/san jose area (one of the cars was a suby). then, one exit later, there was a CHP cruiser with laser standing outside of his car (in the shade, of course). it must have been lidar.

 

yeah, just be careful and make sure you're behind another car.
