PS3 or XBOX 360?
+1 for PS3.
XBox live at even $30/year is still $30 too much IMHO esp. when the PSN is free. To get the same level of functionality in the XBOX as you do in the PS3, it would actually cost more overall.
Oh and about the booting out thing - I find that it's inversely proportional to how close the PS3 is to your wireless router (assuming you're using the wireless connection) -- i.e. the closer your router, the better your signal strength and the less you get booted out...
May not be quite as much of an issue with the newer XBox 360's (I have one of the newer ones with the HDMI output and luckily haven't had any problems so far - knock on wood) but does the "red ring of death" ring any bells??

Do you listen to Live 105?
On their morning show they had this guy from www.gottgame.com , and he annouced the possibility that this will happen. But not until the Summer. So if you can wait, I'd do it. I have a Wii right now and will be buying a PS3 to replace my PS2. But first comes an upgraded TV so I can use the PS3 properly.

I have an Xbox 360 premium but I'd say go for the PS3. Between the HD DVD Vs Blue Ray fallout : HD DVD ftl , larger HD size, and the updates to the PS3 coming consistently (Blu Ray 2.0 flash update coming soon) I see the PS3 as a more relevant & futureproof device.

+1 for PS3. I just bought mine a few days ago and I am very happy with it.
If you have PS2 games that you also want to play on it, make sure you buy the 60GB or the older 80GB versions. All 60GB systems are fully compatible w/ PS2 and PS games and only some 80GB are.
The new 40GB versions really suck IMO, less usb ports, no card reader, and no backwards compatibility.

Turbo upgrade. lol
Believe me,
you will play with that turbo upgrade everyday,
rather than the PS3 on late lonley nights. lol
I have Wii, PS3 and a 360.
PS3 = BETTER GRAPHICS
WII = SOCIAL/DRUNK PLAYING
XBOX = ONLINE COMMUNITY ******.
lol all are fun though. just...turbo is cooler.
i got a roated GT30 turbo kit.
best thing thats ever bolted on in my life. lol

I have PS3, 360 and a wii, the fun of being a dad I get to buy cool crap for my son and play with it. I really like the wii, but I'm an old fart. My son loves the ps3 and blu-ray movies look killer at 1080p. The 360 pretty much just sits there, once in a while it gets turned on for a little while, but not often. Oddly enough having all of these cool consoles the one that gets used the most is an old modded PS2 with 750gb drive and games out the wazoo. However, my son and I both prefer to game on PCs, Mine is an overclocked and watercooled E8400 with sli 8800GTs, his is an overclocked Q6600 with a 3870x2(my "old" rig) no console can even come close to the gaming performance of a decent PC, well...except for the wii, nothing is more fun than having some friends over for drinks and playing with the wii.
Oh and between a turbo upgrade and a game? Screw the game, get the turbo upgrade, far more fun.
