Coming with YOU in particular? Or coming to the event? You can expect around 400 folks to show up to the event, either on par or bigger then the 2006 meet which was the biggest one yet, we had 300ish cars if I remember correctly and close to 500 people. We packed that park like it was nothing. Part of the reason we're doing a new location this year is because we outgrew Joseph D. Grant park, and that says a lot because it's a pretty big park!

This is going to be a great event! The last two years have been a little tame, and there's a reason for that. The meet two years ago wasn't supposed to happen at all, but at the last min, and I mean really last min, a ton of people begged and begged me to throw the event... So with little time to spare I did my best to make it work, as a result of the last min timing a lot of people were not able to attend, mainly because they had other plans or because they didn't know about the meet... We had a turn out of around 220 cars or so which is still really large, but not as large as the previous year.
Then we have last year. I didn't hold the event because it was a hectic year for me due to the fact that I had a new job that kept me really busy and because I was getting married and we had a really large wedding which took so much time and effort to plan, so I didn't have time to do hammy that year, so I asked for someone to take over... Our very own Jourdan (JourdanwithaU) volunteered for this very challenging task. I didn't have time to help him at all due to my time constraints, fatigue, and wedding so he had to handle this bad boy by himself... He soon learned how much of a pain it is to organize everything and make everyone happy... As much of a pain that is, its still fun in the end. Anyway, we changed locations to Quarry Lakes which is in the heart of Fremont, for that reason alone hardly anyone showed up. There was two reasons: One was because it wasn't on Mt Hamilton, or any other really beautiful location that everyone was used to, and the other was fear of police officers pulling people over since it was in the notorious Fremont. The meet really suffered due to that and we had a turn out of a mere 120 cars. Although the meet was still fun and all, it wasn't anything like the previous years.. A lot of things were different. Food wasn't pre-paid for everyone, so some people brought food, and some paid in advance for sandwiches so no one really knew if the food was provided or not, so lots of people expected to pay at the door and have food there for them like every year in the past, so lots of people were left empty handed and didn't have lunch or drinks like in previous years, which meant that lots of folks left really yearly.

I'm not knocking last years event, it was a great meet, but it just wasn't the traditional festival that everyone was used to... People didn't even read the threads that gave info about the meet because they expected it to be like every year which is why there was a huge mixup. But yeah, location was a main factor in why people didn't show up.

When I plan a meet/festival of this caliber I aim high and reserve a really beautiful spot that everyone will love, and not just some park. The drive may be longer, but its worth it. Location does a lot to bring people to the meet... It's very important. I tried to voice my opinions about it but in the end they still chose Quarry lakes. Now we know and knowing is half the battle.

Important! Please do not select something that requires a shipping label! If you do, I have to send you a shipping label tells you how much you owe me for shipping, HOWEVER, you do not have to pay the shipping obviously! So please, send this as a GIFT, nothing else. So when you send the funds and it asks your what it was for, select GIFT.

If you receive a shipping label that says you owe $5 or something, just ignore it! The reason this happens is because you selected the option that said you bought something, and thats why a shipping label is required! Please select "GIFT"

Thanks!

Softball sounds great! You'll have to promote this so people will actually play. It's weird how some people are at meets, they wont do an event unless you invite them directly/ask them... Social anxiety? Just a tip.

Still trying to figure that out... it depends on how many vendors we have, but I'm thinking no.
