Contrary to his statements on the locked thread, he's a dishonest individual - also contrary to his supposition that I wouldn't say the same thing to his face, I really would. You covering for him doesn't help his standing in the eyes of many people on this board.

That said, I wouldn't wish car troubles on anyone because it's a giant PITA. I do hope he can get it fixed. It just sucks that he was trying to work over the dealership to do it.

I can recognize the dealership screwed you. That much is clear, and it sounds like they owned up to their mistake which they absolutely should have. Totally not cool of them to screw your clutch and then rope your uncle into fixin it off hours. Here's where it gets tricky for me to be supportive of you as a member of the same overall community: regardless of whether it's my business or whatever, you posted your intent to get a receipt or quote in order to falsify to them the amount you paid for the clutch. As I understand it, your logic - however flawed - was that you wanted to squeeze them for everything you could regardless of any other factors. I'm not an idiot, and I'm really not criticizing you just to see my words appear on screen. There was no level of satisfaction for me in seeing you get pissed off in that other thread. I insulted you childishly at first, and then apologized, but you continued to hurl insults and act like you had the purest of intentions.

TL;dr explanation - you can't expect to go through life squeezing every last hundred bucks out of a bad situation regardless of whether your opinion supports the idea that someone owes you something. Quite simply, the high road here that any reasonable and honest adult should take would be to accept their offer to reimburse you for what you paid for the clutch kit on amazon and present it to them at face value. I know we do not all operate under the same moral structure, but in my opinion and life experience I have very little patience for people who make public attempts at dishonest acts. At the end of the day, I don't really have a dog in this fight aside from trying to live my life in an upright way. I respect anyone who can and does grind for their family, so long as it's done in such a way that no one else has to pay the consequences for them. That said, even though they struck first with their horrible test ride and basically forcing your uncle into an awkward position in fixing your car after hours and all that, it still doesn't make your deception right in the grand scheme of things.

To answer your question, I'm 32 - also married, but no kids (yet). Regarding what Juan said, I probably would like you in person, but your thread history is full of a couple things that leave a bad taste in my mouth:

1) you don't own up to the consequences of your actions. My reference here is your speeding thread where you admitted to speeding and still complained about your ticket. Laws is laws.

2) you do not accept constructive criticism, or more accurately any opinion that someone has provided which is not the answer you want to hear. I'm mostly referring to your 5x100 swap thread in which multiple people explained in detail why it was a bad idea, but since you really just wanted it so you could get a deal on some used rotas, you didn't receive it as it was meant to be taken. Instead you called everyone haters and hurled insults.

I'm going to stop there, but trust me - the preponderance of evidence is not in your favor. Please understand that I take no joy in telling you this. Just want you to see things another way - take it or leave it

You have to undestand that you don't always know details buzz... You can't always jump and assumptions...my 5x100 thread, my speeding ticket has nothing to do with this. It's the fact that u go off all the time in my threads always stirring crap up. Make easy for both of buZz... You obviously dOnt like how I deal with stuff as I don't like how you go about yours... Just ignore my threads and move on. There's just no point in arguing all the time... Just ignore my threads
