Power steering pump question

So I have a winding noise anytime I turn my steering wheel... Stiffness... Steering wheel shakes when I'm making a turn... Was gonna replace my ps pump then saw 400+ $$ for a néw one... Or that I could buy a rebuilt kit? Anyone have any in put to what I can do? If I have to buy a new ps so be it but if there's anything else I could do that would save me time and money lmk guys. Thanks.

Its not common for the pumps to go out. Sounds like a bad/hard belt...just replace the belt (if you've already done that, I'd only recommend the factory P/S Pump)

Pretty sure the new ones are like almost $500 IIRC

My belts look and feel good... I een had Anthony (xhengman) inspect them after he installed my coilovers.. He said the looked and felt fine.. The steering gets shaky wen I make sharp turns. Also makes a windy sound like waaaaaah waaaaaah waaaaaah wen I steer..

shaky steering means air in the lines, check to make sure the pressure fittings by the steering lack aren't leaking. my ps pump was leaking (gasket on the back side of the pump), i found a low mileage used one on nasioc for about $60 shipped. i'd try that. have a shop do the install, the banjo bolt is easy to mess up.

check the o-ring, usually after replacing timing belt, when you have to kinda put that PS line on the side o-ring gets bad. It happened to me

This is how I fixed mine, after some trial and error it was the oring on the low pressure fitting that was allowing air to get in the system.

My clamps on the supply line between the reservoir and pump failed. Not the line, just the clamps. Air was being sucked into the system but nothing leaked out.

I installed worm drive clamps and haven't had a problem again.
