Damn WC Subaru dealership did the same thing to me. Oddly enough, the old timing belt magically disappeared.

yup that's why I posted this. Figured if someone's in the market they could get the car checked out for what, a couple hundred bucks at most...

My money's on a blown headgasket. He wouldn't even answer simple questions about water in oil or bubbles in the coolant reservoir. If you don't have the money to figure out what it is, you don't have the money to replace the T-Belt and stuff needlessly.
