Im in a delimma myself. I wear the nolens but they discontinued them. I really want the happy lens but the only frames that look similar are the dirty mos and they are a lil smaller frame for my taste. I might just say **** it and get them n get used to it.
I just ordered a set of Koni Yellows, TiC cowl braces and strut extenders, plus a set of Fartboy subframe lock bolts. STOKED to finally order these parts. I can post pics when it all comes in I guess.
Strut extenders: D_rex Koni strut extenders
NOTE: if you want Konis, look these guys up - $655 shipped but they are saying 4 sets left. These were well over $800 from TireRack and Shox and better than the best price I thought I found. Almost bought the cowl braces from TougeTuning @$104 before seeing them from TiC for $85.
Why??
Same question as above. Not hating, just clarificating.

This is actually went on my Legacy Outback with a Katboy short shifter (so I cannot speak for WRX/Impreza feel). The short throw by itselt sat WAY too low and away from me in an optimal driving position (especially being 6' 3"+ snuggled up in an aftermarket seat). I had to do a less than comfortable reach for it and take off eye off the road sometimes. The extention placed the shifter right next to the steering wheel, so I don't have to move my whole body or even my hand that much to shift. It also brought the **** into my periferal vision and I can play around with its posistioning due to the double bend. I did have a 4" straight extension on it prior to getting this one...but I was indifferent to it, so decided to try something different.
On the downside, it increased shift throw and vaguness (even with all of the possible upgraded shifter bushing) and HVAC/radio controls get blocked a little bit. Also, the **** choice becomes more prevelent/important. I switched to a much lighter one to improve shift feel as compared to the stock Kartboy height, where a heavier **** seemed better suited...this is obviously very personal/subjective.
Overall, the added comfort and efficiency seems worth it so far (this is my DD and outdoors car)...To me it still feels better compared to a stock shifter with an similar extension, but I am not so sure I would put this on my auto-cross/track car
Sorry for the long winded reply, but that's my $0.02

I hate when you find a pair you like then they get discontinued. I love the Dirty-Mo's tho!

I have also been looking for a steering wheel spacer.
Where do you need to go?
Gotcha - thanks for the rundown! Is it wrong that I read the first line in my head like this: "Ziss is actually vent on.."??
I gotcha. I was asking I guess because I just put the "STi short shift linkage" for the 5spd on my car at the same time as an arm-rest extension, and now shifts are just a flick of the wrist when just cruising around.
I can see how the longer lever would be beneficial though. At the same time it seems like you want would to make sure the bushings were as tight as possible (like a tiger) since any looseness would be exaggerated. My old truck had a shift lever that was around 3 feet long but made sense for that thing. I really like the Dodge 6spd trunk trans too where the lever is around 3+feet long but the shift "H" is still nice and tight - just up by the radio haha..

Pretty much all this. I am tall and sit as far back as I can. I felt I had to lean forward to grab the shifter. I feel more comfortable with the extension and can make better shifts. The actual throw is a little longer but my hand is off the steering wheel less time. Plusses I like to be different
