What matters most is the brake bleed.

I purchased (1) Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3 tire because of some *** on the freeway... its going to get shaved down since I only have had 3,000 miles on the new tires. I hate how some people drive like crap on the 92/880 split and make me hit a piece of wood with nails that also scratched my wheel a bit.... soooooo sad day!

Dude I hope u didnt have tire rack shave it based on tread depth.

Go to custom alignment and have them install it and measure the od of all tires with a stagger gauge.

Shaving based on tread depth is bad news.....

New conti dws and ones that had 7/32 left were less than 1/4 in diameter from eachother. No shave needed. If I had tire rack shave it prior it would have been wayyyyyy too small.

If thats closer than custom alignment in milpitas then yea you can go there too. Hes a little far for me being all the way is CV.

I was all set to have custom alignment shave them but it wasnt needed. I felt weird but the car pulled strong with no binding problems ever.

TBH thank you for telling me not to go with tire rack... I have never really been in this position but as soon as I started reading more and more I realized okay I better get this done in the shop since it has to do a whole lot more than just depth. Milpitas is a lot further away for me than CV but I have always taken my car to Roger Krause to get my alignments done just in time too since im getting suspension done as well.

I think hes the only other shop in the bay area who shaves tires. To be honest im pretty sure its illegal for dot radials.

And no problem. Whenever I see shaving tires in a thread I always interject cause ive been there and done that a few times.

Lets just hope that Roger Krause will do that for me then if not... I may need to shell out money for new tires which is not what I want to do at all.

He will do it. If not drive to mountain view one day.

The reason I say its illegal is because I asked a local tire shop about shaving and they said its illegal for street tires but not racing tires.

Who knows they could have been blowing smoke to sell a set of 4.

I dropped off my WRX today w/ a set of Koni Yellows w/ the D-Rex strut extenders, Fartboy subframe bolts, TiC fender braces, STi Titanium FSTB, and Oswald rear brace all in the trunk ready to get put on. Also getting some exhaust work and a couple other things looked at. I probably won't see the thing for a while, but SOOOO EXCITED and stuff. I meant to take pictures, as I know that's what this thread is all about but, well, yeah. Oops.

Driving my Justy again today, had to work at our SF office for a while, then drove across to Haight/Masonic to get 2x growlers filled at Magnolia (because beer) and then back to San Brunoville. Feels like a mouse in a stampede sometimes in that car - zang!

Roger Kraus is my favorite tire/alignment shop. His son Brandon is a very experienced racer, cool dude and the guy who has aligned all my cars. I used to go to Custom Alignment, and they are great, but, well, I go to Roger Kraus now.

I do not mean to be rude or offend, but - how did someone else cause you to hit something on the road? I know that area can be a battle-ground, but just was wondering about that.

Yep only alignment place I go to now well the truck ahead of me decided to dump stuff on the road unexpectedly and I had no choice but to run it over because if I went left or right I would have caused a collision and a tire is much cheaper than a human life. Damaged my wheel super ficially but its OK :-/ still angry but stuff happens

Oh wow, they were dumping stuff - that is crazy! I get it now. I thought you meant someone was driving crazy and forced you off the road or something like that. Sounds like you did the best thing. Sorry to hear about the damage, that is no fun.

EDIT: Woot, I took a pic of the strut extenders... Hahaha..
