an inverted chair and yoga will do wonders. 5-10 minutes inverted when it starts hurting and do yoga 2-4 times a week and things will improve greatly. strengthening your core will help also.

Hey Heedz, sorry to hear about that man I know what you're going thru im in the same boat. So I had a laminectomy and partial discectomy last friday. I couldnt take it anymore. I tried PT then Spinal Decompression with a chiropractor. They both helped a little. The Spinal Decopmression wasnt covered by im IP so it was 1,080 for six treatments. I read it takes sometimes upward to 30 treatments before people feel 100%. Have a chiropactor look at your MRI. But really if you have a bad compression or herniation. That fluid and disc gel **** is hitting your nerve and causing narrowing and pressure. I finally said **** the chiro and went under the knife because i couldnt afford it anymore. Its been a week and my cyatic pain is 80% gone and still getting better w/o any pain meds in me. My surgery site is still swollen but a lot of people feel instant relief after the surgery. I read its effective 90% of time and people get back to there normal lives. 90% was more than enough for me. We'll see in about another 2 weeks if mine worked 100%
Good luck.
Good luck.

It just really sucks cause each person reacts differently to surgery meds or what not so each diagnosis can be totally different. Unlike a broken bone is a broken bone you know?

Yeah man I hear you. F-ing with your spine is no joke and surgery is a permanent thing. My Neurosurgeon told me that this type of surgery is not the type of surgery people have horrible outcomes from. Its not nearly as risky as say like a fusion or full discectomy, just do your research. I chose to undergo the surgery after the PT and Chiro didn't give me the results I wanted. I can tell you that I'm already happy with my outcome. Like some of the others said, stretching, yoga, and pilates is very important in keeping your core in shape and preventing future injury. Also I find that staying hydrated really helps with the pain. Drink lots of water. One of the main reasons I chose surgery though was because I started feeling other areas of my body getting thrown out of alignment because of the way I was walking and hunching due to the pain. I started having severe neck, shoulder, and upper back pain and I felt that if I let it go on any longer I was just doing more damage to my body.

Just make sure you have food in the fridge and plenty of entertainment cuz it's really boring lying in bed for three days haha. The post op pain wasn't bad at all for me. Maybe like an 8 at the most, but since we're use to being in pain it really is not that bad at all. Take your pain meds on schedule for like the first three days, then start weaning yourself off them. I stopped taking my pain meds completely after a week. I drove my car for like an hour 6 days after surgery also!!! Good luck Heedz, let us know how you feel when you get home.
