Poll: Help me choose a brake pad to fit my Wilwoods!
What does ABS have to do with it? If ABS engages, then it is doing its job... Once you break traction, you better have plan B ready to go.
Not sure what you mean by pads won't make any difference? On my WRX the only two things I changed on the car were the pads and added SST lines and the thing stopped considerably better. OEM rotors all around. But I also ran 17s and decent tires, and I never had any stopping issues with the car.

I think on reference these people are taking about having an inappropriate tire. This has nothing to do with me choosing pads on tires that are good.
I know you get that.

Pads provide friction to the brake rotor, generating heat and reducing speed - tires generate friction between the vehicle and the ground, which stops you faster.

5) Braking performance is about more than just brakes. In order for even the best braking systems to function effectively, tires, suspension and driving techniques must be optimized.
...
If the braking system is only marginal, upgrading the pads and brake fluid and/or getting more air to the system will probably cure the problem at minimal cost. Replacing the stock rubber flexible hoses with stainless braid armored Teflon hoses will improve the ability to effectively modulate the braking force at moderate cost

I spoke directly to one of the engineers at Stoptech a few months ago.

Did you read it yourself? READ THIS, directly from the article:
You don't have a good way to actually get your point across. We are saying the same thing, yet you feel the need to argue about it. I have no idea where you got shorter distances from. As Heedz said too, tires aren't the question here.

What it sounds like you are saying is that brakes don't make a difference in how well a car stops, at least that's how I am taking it. That's probably not what you mean, but that's how it comes across.

sooooo after a week of driving on these pads, gotta say they're streetable. But not for everyone for sure. This got the exact braking dynamic I wanted. I might swap my rears for the polymatrix E since I have a set laying around.
