Not sure what you mean by pads won't make any difference? On my WRX the only two things I changed on the car were the pads and added SST lines and the thing stopped considerably better. OEM rotors all around. But I also ran 17s and decent tires, and I never had any stopping issues with the car.

I think on reference these people are taking about having an inappropriate tire. This has nothing to do with me choosing pads on tires that are good.

I know, I dont mean to argue, but some people fall prey to their buttdynos and myth that getting pads and SS lines make your braking distance shorter.

I know you get that.

Pads provide friction to the brake rotor, generating heat and reducing speed - tires generate friction between the vehicle and the ground, which stops you faster.

If the braking system is only marginal, upgrading the pads and brake fluid and/or getting more air to the system will probably cure the problem at minimal cost. Replacing the stock rubber flexible hoses with stainless braid armored Teflon hoses will improve the ability to effectively modulate the braking force at moderate cost
You don't have a good way to actually get your point across. We are saying the same thing, yet you feel the need to argue about it. I have no idea where you got shorter distances from. As Heedz said too, tires aren't the question here.

I spoke directly to one of the engineers at Stoptech a few months ago.

I've been talking about shorter distances from the beginning, so I dont know what you've been talking about this whole time, thats why I said there is a difference between braking performance and braking distance in my first post.

What it sounds like you are saying is that brakes don't make a difference in how well a car stops, at least that's how I am taking it. That's probably not what you mean, but that's how it comes across.

No I've been saying they dont reduce braking distance.

sooooo after a week of driving on these pads, gotta say they're streetable. But not for everyone for sure. This got the exact braking dynamic I wanted. I might swap my rears for the polymatrix E since I have a set laying around.
