Poll: Help me choose a brake pad to fit my Wilwoods!
The front Wilwoods I have is a 4" stock car pad.
I do not care about dust, I have Wilwoods, Wilwoods create dust regardless.
I do not care about noise, I have Wilwoods, Wilwoods create noise regardless.
The choices I have for a street pad with good torque without needing heat up is....
Porterfield R4S
-These are my currently installed pads, but I feel like I can use a tad more bite
-Has a really good linear brake torque
-Not a harsh initial bite
-Handled a track day kinda
-$60ish
Wilwood E or BP20 Compound
-The E compound was installed when I bought the car
-Not sure if it was because of time but the pad broke apart upon unistallation
-Had good all around brake torque but not sure about when these are pushed because the pads were worn so I never had the chance to push them "wherever" because swapped
-$80ish
Hawk HP+
-Never had these on the Wilwoods but I did run them on the Legacy GT before my Brembo swap
-Really hard initial bite, hate that in traffic or low speed
-Probably will turn my wheels a different color who cares
-These have a slight edge over the R4S in overall bite
-Never was a fan of Hawk pads after trying the HPS(Hated the threshold braking coming down hamilton) and Ceramics(were noisy in reverse, dusted a lot when they weren't supposed to, the bite sucked) when I changed to the Brembos
-$60ish

It's the old school perrin kit using the 4 pot Wilwood Dynalite, same as what Justin has on the wagon
The pad code is 4" Stockcar single centered cotter pin.
Also this is after confirming with Livermore Performance too.

Looks like the E has more bite overall without needing heat compared to the BP-10/20
I run the powerstop Z26 series on the FXT and have no complains other than dust (no big, wash wheel, problem gone)
Just remember folks, no brake or pad is going to make you stop faster, that is the job of the tires.

If in doubt, FLAT OUT

I did not like the Hawks (HPS, not +) because they were HORRIBLE in the cold until you got some heat in them. I liked the stoptech SPs because they had pretty good cold bite, but they dust a lot too; more than the hawks.

I dunno why tires have to be mentioned here. I'm no where near a hellaflusher set up.
The stop tech sp I did like but the r4s my current pads are better than the SPs
