It's weird. But the road is legaly defined as a speed trap, and for the police to use radar on that road they need to have proper paperwork done, which they do not. I just need to explain that with the proper paperwork, and ask a few questions to the officer like
"Was I in danger of traveling off the road"
Etc.
I also need weather reports, visibility, etc. I have a full binder full of all the legal paperwork and such it's a lot to explain took me about an hour to read and explain and I have some legal experience as I was an intern (who actually learned things haha) at a law office.

My situation is probably different. Read my last post as to why I can get out of it.
To get it reduced if you are guilty and there are no legal ways out
Wear a suit
Plead guilty
Be as nice as possible
Apologize
Those can help
If you have illegal mods on your wrx then drive another car haha. Just in case...

POP is instant-on Ka band radar. It has nothing to do with LIDAR. If your Beltronics device detected a LIDAR beam, it would say "Laser alert".

As I mentioned earlier, simply having countermeasure devices like a radar detector isn't enough. You have to know how to use it, which most people don't. 95% of people that buy radar detectors just stick it on their windshields and think it's going to automatically cloak them or render them immune to police radar/laser, which is NOT the case.

Where you mount the device plays a big role in how effective it is in detecting the laser beam.

Upper windshield is not an ideal spot. The most commonly targeted areas on a car by cops using LIDAR is the front plate and headlights. Knowing this, it's better to mount your radar detector on the lower part of the windshield or flush mount it to the dash.
