People taking video of next weekends BAM event, please read!
Hey guys and gals,
I know many of you have video cameras, and since I wont be able to film the event due to the fact that I will be busy most of the time, I would like to ask you guys for some help.
I plan on putting together a nice little video of the event, but need some shots of certain things since I can't get them myself. Here's the kind of shots I need, and would really appreciate it if you guys could maybe take some of the footage and send it to me afterwords.
1. I need caravan footage, both moving/rolling shots as well as parking lot gathering shots. For the moving shots, I would love action shots, like views from your rear window, side window, windshield, and any other cool angles you can think of. If someone wants to mount a camera in the front of their car like I did to my STi with the flip cam, that would be most awesome! Especially if you're in a good size caravan! Shots where you're gathered in a parking lot would be cool too since I want to get shots of everything.
2. Arrival shots of you arriving, and shots of the parking lot and film all the cars (which I can fast forward so we have all the cars on video in fast motion)
3. Event shots, I need shots of everything thats happening, from the car show to the raffle, and any of the quirky stuff that happens at every year's event.
4. Food/drink shots of course
5. People shots, try to get video of the various groups of people that are gathered around like they do at every year's event. I wanna try to get everyone to be in the video at least for a second.
6. The more action shots you can get, the better!
7. Time lapse shots! This would be the best thing you could give to me. Maybe if someone stood at the entry way and did a sort of time lapse shot of everyone arriving of the course of an hour, that way I can edit it, put it in fast forward and get a really cool shot of everyone arriving, kind of like we did last year.
As far as last year's event goes, here's a link to the video that I threw together using my flip cam. That was a super quick job that I just threw together, this year I will take my time and make a better video. This video will give you an idea of what kind of shots are good and which aren't. It's always best if you don't move around while filming. Stand still and follow whatever you are shooting by moving the camera while standing still rather then walking/running. Wide angle shots are always good too.
Damn, youtube raped our sound. They removed the sound due to copyright reasons, weak!
