A parking story: Land Rovers suck!!

Some stupid junk happened yesterday...
So I'm in the Tenderloin of SF and parking my boss' Toyota 1/2 ton truck. I back up at a reasonable pace into a small space and as I back up I lightly bump the car behind me. Little do I know the owner of the Land Rover is a total butthead. As I'm finishing parking and locking up he is out of his car and bending over looking at his bumper and I'm beginning to sense he's going to start crying about it. He asks me hey you, look what you did? He's pointing to his left fog light which is completely shattered. I look at it, realize he probably broke his fog light and wants to blame me for breaking it, and I tell him I didn't hit his car. So he continues on that I hit his bumper and broke his light, and I tell him it's not my car and I'll get my boss the owner and we can all have a little meeting about how I couldn't have broken his fog light.

Boss gets out, the guy walks up and tells him what kind of a business is he running, and why do you let your employees smoke weed on the job? At this point I just get right up in his face, pull down one eyelid and tell him 'do you see my eyes'? don't you dare come to my work, accuse me of messing with your vehicle, then accuse me of doing drugs in front of my boss! i didn't break anything and if you want trouble you just found it please call the cops because there is no chance in hell i could have backed up so hard as to break your light that is some spineless nonsense. I yelled at him for half a minute then my boss told me to go inside and they landrover dude said there was "no problem", obviously because he cant do nothin and he knows it.

i've been driving for seven years and have never ruined anyone's car while parallel parking and never intend to in the future. if you ask me, you own a land rover #1 you should expect bumpers to touch in the city #2 you should have the money to fix it if something goes wrong and #3 you car is supposed to be the most rugged in the world how in the world did you break a fog light?? it's recessed into the bumper! there were no marks on the toyota bumper and no signs of damage on the rover.

anyone ever been blamed for something like this?

And so what happened afterwards? Did you boss say anything to you? The fog was probably smashed by a rock. Probably couldn't recover from the insurance deductable.

Didn't the land rover owner get the optional brush guard protectors for all the lenses!?

My boss asked him what he wanted to do, the jerk said he didn't want to do anything. My boss is a really good and friendly guy and he just didn't want any trouble from someone who knows where he works. We went to look at the bumper later that day and he agreed with me that the guy was full of it and he probably broke it himself while parking elsewhere.

To Richie Rich driving a white Land Rover whitey! i hope you spill some coffee on that preppy sweater you had on! hahahahaha ok thats enough.

so wait..

you hit some guys land rover and wonder why he was pissed at you? I understand you being mad he tried to lie about the broken fog light, but..I mean, you hit the guys car. You should be a bit more understanding, IMO. I'd be pissed if you hit my car too.

Hitting a car is different than touching bumpers. I backed up really slow and the bumpers are made to take 5mph hits. Are you saying you don't touch the cars in front of and behind you when you park? This incident makes me rethink being protective of my autos. I used to be scared of people hitting my car... then I realized it's a losing battle and just deal with it. These cars get so many dings and dents anyways

No I never touch the other cars when I parallel park. When in doubt, I check the mirror or go out in person and look. It doesn't matter how many mph the bumper can take, it is just disrespectful to the other person playing bumper cars on the street.
