Options For Recycling Car Parts

So I have a couple wheel/tire sets and some misc car parts that aren't worth a ton of $$$ and I haven't had any luck selling them (98% non-Subaru related). At this point I am tired at looking at them and want them gone.

Has anyone tried recycling automotive stuff? I called a few general recycling centers and they will only give me ~$0.30/lbs for cast alimunum. And for things like wheels, I must remove the tires myself (or generally just give them metal only without anything else). So it won't even be worth the tire shop fees, gas and my time if I go that route. Would junk yards or Pick'n'Pull be better option? Or should I just chuck them into the neighboor's trash bin?

And before anyone asks...no, I am not giving anything away for free. If CL people are too cheap to pay $80 for 4 good condition 17" wheels and tires, I am too cheap to waste my time

I should have specified not much is Subaru related; majority is other makes/models (Mitsubishi, Toyota, Dodge, Mazda, etc). And people here are cool...it is more Craiglist and some other forums

These guys? Global Metals Recycling | Scrap Car Recycling | Scrap Metal Sales | Scrap Metal Purchasing | Scrap Metal Prices | Sims Metal Management Global

If so, that could be exactly what I am looking for!

What size/condition are the tires on the 17"s?

I always just drop off stuff like this at shops that help me out, if they are okay with it. They get something for the recycled metal, and I don't have to deal with any hassle. Honestly trying to get money for stuff you just want to get rid of will ultimately have you holding onto it longer.
