Guess where I live? I agree that the traffic in Bay Point is a little easier, but I live in Antioch because it's just nicer, Neighborhoods are nicer, schools are nicer - checkout clerks are nicer. All on the South side of Antioch, there are older homes on the North side and the neighborhoods are not quite as nice nor are the schools.
Good Luck.

There is a very nice area in the north part of Antioch off of James Donlan on top of Tabora (the only very large hill with homes on in in the area.) The homes are all about 3,000 square feet and the crime rate is super low (no brake ins in like 16 years, no stolen cars.) The down side is that they start in the high 600ks and despite the nice neighborhood, you still have to put up with the annoying hwy4 commute. I lived in that neighborhood for 16 years, and had no complaints other than the commute. Don't let the asthetics of south antioch fool you though. Just because the area looks newer than many areas of north antioch, the crime rate out here is actually higher... much higher. I think it's mostly due to the ghetto *** kids in the area. They seem to think they live in downtown pitt or richmond or something.

Hey Mex... Why don't you livein El Sobrante? I bought a house here for under 400K... it's 4 bedroom, 2 baths, 2 car garage, over 3000 sqft. but I bought it about a year and a half ago. It's a nice little community too. quiet, diverse, community center and park right next door. overall, I love living there. And I don't have to worry about anyone breaking into my suby

Brentwood is nice, but further. Ditto on DBay.
Damn companies need to build a biotech out there. Talk about happy scientists.

If you want, you can call my sister for any houses available in the east bay. she's a pretty good real estate person. Sometimes I think she's too honest, but she's always on top of things and never has the client do anything... all they do is wait and get the house. haha I'm going to use her the next time I sell. (she speaks spanish too (Porque ella nacio en la China y asistio en la universidad de Lima ... so mama and the whole family can discuss together and have a big bbq con anticucho y papas rellenas y arros con pollo,.. y hamburgesas! hehe))
